On August 9th 2020 in Warsaw, 48 Polish LGBTQ activists were brutally arrested during a demonstration in support of Stop Bzdurom - a group who hangs rainbow flags at national monuments to stop homophobic laws in Poland. In reaction to this event, I took my Canadian girlfriend Sarah for a walk video walk to the monument of Maria Konopnicka a 19th century Polish lesbian writer. I painted a rainbow on the sidewalk in front of it. The monument is located in Park Saski where I also used to make out with my first teenage lesbian crushes when skipping school. The video call was live streamed as a part of a ConnexiOnze performance series curated by Kimura Byole.
