What does it mean to bring a new life into the world at a moment when humanity has reached a threshold of irreparable climate breakdown? Through this photographic series I explore the tensions between celebration of life and environmental grief which are in the forefront of contemporary political conversations. This project is a meditation on change and transformation, a negotiation between despair and hope which shapes a new generation’s feelings about the future. I use photography as a strategy to investigate liminal spaces and thresholds of life in relation to body, nature and time. It is a record of intuitive searching and reaching, an attempt to work through my own anxieties while appreciating the beauty which surrounds me.
